Training School
Abraham Darby Academy is part of a ‘soft federation’ with Adams’ Grammar School known as The Haberdashers’ Adams’ Federation. The two schools work closely together to raise standards, promote inclusion, find new ways of approaching teaching and learning and build capacity between the schools. The Training School status reflects and acknowledges a long standing commitment to provide long term training for its staff – both teaching and non teaching and to initial teacher training.
The Training School lies at the heart of the collaboration between the two schools – it provides the cement which ties all the other initiatives together.
We are in the business of education; so we must be educating and developing the potential of everyone in our school – pupils, trainee teachers, teachers, support staff, governors, parents and members of our local communities
The Training School is key in developing and supporting the Federation. The schools are rapidly developing a significant range of experience and expertise in the provision of Initial Teacher Trainees (ITTs) and whole staff Continuous Professional Development (CPD).
