Principal's Introduction

Abraham Darby is a brand new Academy which opened in September 2008. I am delighted to be its First Principal and excited about the future for the Academy.

I am also pleased by the response of the whole community to the opportunities offered by the new Academy. The students have embraced the new ethos wholeheartedly and adopted a mature and positive approach. The staff too are excited about the future prospects for the students and the links with Adams' Grammar School in Newport

High expectations and traditional values in terms of appearance and conduct are at the heart of our Academy. We provide our students with a rich educational experience, challenge them to constantly improve upon their previous best and then recognise and celebrate their achievements.

In September 2009 the new Sixth Form was introduced. In September 2011 we will be opening the doors to our new Academy building. Work is already underway designing a state-of-the-art, ICT rich environment where students will benefit from modern facilities and a superb leisure complex.
