In addition to the curriculum offered through timetabled lessons staff are constantly on the look out for activities that will help to reinforce learning or offer pupils different experiences. Such activities may involve visits off-site or inviting speakers into school. Below are some examples of enrichment activities.

Mathematics Enrichment

The mathematics department has a comprehensive support program for KS4 and KS5 pupils who will be sitting exams at the end of the year. This includes weekly revision sessions, small group intervention during mentor time and intensive sessions during the school holidays.

In addition to this we aim to push the most able pupils with a range of activities across the Year groups. These include entry into the nationally recognised Maths Challenge competition in Year 7, 8  and 9, a maths activity day combining physical and mental challenges and trips to Adams Grammar with a focus on extending mathematical thinking.

Modern Foreign Languages

In October half term, a group of 28 pupils flew off Barcelona to improve their Spanish and Art skills, staying in a youth hostel right in the centre of the city.
