APPEALING FOR A PLACE AT HABERDASHERS’ ABRAHAM DARBY 

We would strongly advise all parents to carefully read the guidance notes below before completing and submitting their appeal form.  Please click on the link below to access the guidance notes.  These guidance notes are intended to be read alongside the admission appeals form to provide parents with guidance in completing the appeal form and information relating to the admission appeal process.  A paper copy is also available to collect from the Academy’s reception.

NEW YEAR 7 INTAKE 2018 – If your child was unsuccessful in being allocated a Year 7 place at Abraham Darby for the September 2018 intake, you have the right of appeal.  Please click on the link below to access the Academy’s New Year 7 Intake Appeals Form. This is an “interactive” form so can be completed online.  Please complete in full (clearly indicating why you are appealing for a place at Abraham Darby), sign and return, with any further supporting documents, direct to the Academy by email abrahamdarby.appeals@taw.org.uk or post to be received by no later than 30th March 2018, for the attention of the Clerk to the Independent Appeals Panel (IAP).   Appeal Hearings will be held over two days on Wednesday 9th and Thursday 10th May 2018.  The Clerk to the IAP will be in touch with you on receipt of your completed form.

MID-YEAR TRANSFER APPEALS – If the admission authority has refused your child a place in any year group at Abraham Darby during the current academic year, you have the right of appeal.  Please click on the link below to access the Academy’s Mid-Year Transfer Appeals Form.  This is an “interactive” form so can be completed online.  Please complete in full (clearly indicating why you are appealing for a place at Abraham Darby), sign and return, with any further supporting documents, direct to the Academy by email abrahamdarby.appeals@taw.org.uk as soon as possible, for the attention of the Clerk to the Independent Appeals Panel (IAP).  We try to hear all appeals within 30 school days (6 weeks) from receipt of the appeals form (as long as all the information has been provided on the form and the necessary supporting documents submitted).  If the form is not completed in full or the necessary supporting documents not submitted, you may delay the date of the appeals hearing.  You will be notified of the date of the appeals hearing by the Clerk to the IAP.
